Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that India will leave its benchmark worldwide in business dispute redressal with the setting up of international arbitration centre in Mumbai.
Inaugurating the Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration, MCIA in Mumbai yesterday, Mr Fadnavis said that setting up of a state of art first ever international arbitration centre in the country is an important step in dispute resolution system.
He also said the Arbitration Centre is in sync with the Prime Minister's Make in India campaign. The Chief Minister expressed hope that the Centre would provide a time bound and cost-effective facility and reinforce investor confidence.
In the absence of an international arbitration centre in the country, the majority of global disputes earlier landed at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.
